WELCOME TO THE CLASS OF 2099 - Spinning out of the post-apocalyptic wreckage of pop culture is Sydney based futurist-cult visionary act, Dead Inside the Chrysalis, taking on a world that fears and rejects them with their 'far from norm' self-expression. Now armed with a secret weapon in the form of their future sounding new EP 'CLASS OF 2099' (OUT 4th NOV 2006 thru Electricult/MGM), DITC find themselves heading into a realm where it seems even rebels fear to tread. Get ready for the next generation of rock 'n' roll virtual suicide... Tune your VR units in as we WELCOME YOU INTO THE CLASS OF 2099. Band Members Manek Deboto (the Omnicron Sigma, Immaculate Erection, mutant vox, sub-humanoid programming, total star quality) Drad Xerox (guitar pulses , keyboard fingering, billboard) Nuke Puke Em (toxic waste, mutant pinup grrl, radioactive vox) Take the chamelon changes of David Bowie, the hi-pitched howl of Ozzy Osbourne and John Lydon mixed with the pompousness of Marc Bolan and angst of Kurt Cobain, the disco-pop sensibilities of Public Image Ltd, Devo, Duran Duran and Gary Numan, the electro-dread-sludge dirge of Type O Negative and Deadsy, throw in some riot punk attitude and programming from Iggy Pop, Alien Sex Fiend, Sigue Sigue Sputnik, Sex Pistols and Atari Teenage Riot and have it produced at a hallucinatory party hosted by Andy Warhol filled with the cast from Toxic Avenger and you might just get some idea of what DITC is about. Dwelling on the outer-edges of society to fashion together pieces of pop-culture's media flesh into a designer-wave Frankenstein's monster turned mega-star. Part video, part reality, part distortion, part wet-dream, this misunderstood beast is about to come crashing into the party to dance the night away with those who would seek to destroy it. Disguised for the sake of human understanding as a hi-concept, designer-wave, cyberpunk entertainment system, Dead Inside the Chrysalis, move past the line-up of retro whatever bands looking for a safe-set pathway into the world of rock 'n' roll with blatant disregard and head straight into crash the party. A metamorphosis of high concept cyber-punk, pop, glam, new rave & electro-trash rock with song titles such as 'ACID NIGHT AT THE PROM', 'THE BOY WHO COULDN'T FLY' and 'TRANZSISTER OBLIVION' provide the soundtrack for the next stage of [r]evolution. Aptly described by The Sydney Morning Herald as the "Post Apocalyptic Duran Duran" after a fashion reporter for the paper caught sight of the band's unique lead singer being greeted by none other than Alice Cooper on a taping of ABC's TV talk-show Enough Rope, hosted by Andrew Denton. Dead Inside The Chrysalis combine their bit-crushing sound with a unique visual aesthetic while consistently delivering nothing short of a world class live experience with a stadium filling sound. Having already showed their dexterity and genre-defying appeal with live shows supporting acts such as American shock rocker Wednesday 13, sci-fi art rockers The Red Paintings, Warners recent Indy signing -The Follow, EBM pioneers Nitzer Ebb (UK), Psychobilly wonders Zombie Ghost Train and up-coming tour with the US's Genitorturers (Nov 06). DITC continue to impress brand new audiences from all walks of life. The tranz-dimensional power-pack is led by schizoid lead-singer, Manek Deboto -a half William Gibson inspired virtual punk streaming in real time and half trance-vestite Rocky Horror freak-hooker, looking more like a future-hybrid of Johnny Rotten and some gunk born from David Bowie's weird eye or perhaps something closer to a reject sub humanoid from Tromaville. However, Deboto had this rant to say, "Make no mistakes about it mutants, the human-race is in the grip of sedation. For far too long we have been brainwashed by the mega-corporations who would have us enslaved to the drone of mind-control and manipulation. They formed their factories to build their reality moulds and set their traps upon the world. Now we find ourselves caught in a system of dead dreams, running thru a maze of dead ends. Many believe that we are the masters of destiny and instigate cocoons of our own making to shield us from the nightmare voids of reality -those are the unknown side-effects formed from the products of our dreams and nightmares. But like any rebel Frankenstein creation with a used by date on the verge of demise, we want more from life and we choose to fight back!" Summoning stardom, these alienesque supermodels stamp across the stage as if it were a catwalk drenched in sex, drugs and circuitry for their psychokinetic bodies to suck up and project into the crowd. Assuring at least that eyes in their presence are firmly set on them whilst making sure to deliver a soundtrack that transports the room to another world. The band's sight is clearly set in creating their own brand of future, its just that now has to deal with it. From here there's a sense of anything can happen. Determined to invent their own reality, DITC have instigated the creation of a new DIY sub-culture, where 'TAPE IS THE NEW SAFETY-PIN', their loyal legion paving way for a fashion sense of individual's self-expression, as well as the band providing a means of involvement thru the creation of the entertainment label, Electricult and printing up their own Sniff This" Zine, harkening back to the days of 70's punk zine Sniffin Glue. The band have also been known to involve stage concepts such as cybernetic zombies attacking the band during performance as well as hosting the demented cheerleader, punk karaoke squad for anarchy known as ACTION FIGURES to open for them in order to keep their audience on their toes. In the works is a cable TV show called, 'THIS SHOW SUX', with Simon Day (Ratcat) as producer, it will incorporate the Mutant Generation into yet another medium for fans and Electricult artists to participate. DITC are firmly planted here in the now to shake things up and build a unity of loyal believers who have a taste for the unique and help warp other outsiders into the party of their future cult. What will emerge from the clashing of styles and cultures is a MUTANT GENERATION.
